GOOD SPORTS

Cricketers and polo players scored major support for The British Asian Trust in charity matches this summer.  A cheque for £20,020 was presented to Trust Ambassador Preeya Kalidas at the Friends Provident t20 Finals Day on 14th August at the Rose Bowl, courtesy of Rubicon - makers of  exotic juice drinks. read more   Star players from India's Punjab region and members of The British Army Polo Club competed in the inaugural Saragarhi Cup Polo Match on 18th September to raise money  for The British Asian Trust and The Bhumi Vardaan Foundation. HRH The Prince of Wales presented the trophies. read more

Trust Beneficiary: Bangladesh/Anamul Khandokar

By the time he was 14, Anamul Khandokar was a labourer in a leather tannery in Dhaka working to support his family. Forced to abandon his studies, he never lost his initiative. Today Anamul is the proprietor of Simul Leather Products employing six workers producing wallets, handbags, jackets and belts. With support from Trust partner Bangladesh Youth Enterprise Advice and Help Centre (B’Yeah), Anamul established his own factory. read more
